Minutes of the meeting of the officers of the North Texas Chapter of the SWCS
Present at the meeting were: Emil Horvath, President, Cheryl Simmons, President-elect, Kristi McKinley, Treasurer, and Romy Myszka.Horvath opened the meeting promptly at 2pm.
First order of business was a discussion on the spring membership meeting, location and event. Several options were entertained: North Dallas, joint with EPA; Fort Worth ZOO; Botanical Gardens, Trinity Trails, and Fort Worth Master Plan location. It was moved and agreed that the meeting should be held at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, tentatively on Thursday 12 or 26 of April, in the afternoon. Between 2 and 4 pm. Action: Romy will look into obtaining a speaker for the event. Kristi and Cheryl will visit the site and arrange for meeting facilities and amenities. Action: Romy will look into inviting local groups with similar interest to this meeting.
Second item, Cheryl mentioned that a Chapter Report to SWCS comes due on February 15th. Action: Emil will confirm content with Cheryl and file the report.
Third item was the Summer Family Picnic. June 9th was voted on as a tentative date. Location is TBD. Suggested was the Fort Worth Nature Center off Jacksboro Highway (Routes 199 & 1886). Action: Cheryl will look into meeting facilities at the Nature Center, and a possible tour/speaker/hay ride.
Fourth item was the Chapter web site. Cheryl presented two options for consideration. Officers voted on, and approved a motion for a local option for a total of $325 for a two year cycle. Action: Cheryl will make the arrangements, work with Kristi on the payments and report back to the membership.
Fifth item was the treasurer's issue of a pending CD. Motion was made and approved to move the $5k to the Chapter's checking account
The date and time of the next meeting of the Chapter officers is pending completed actions as stated above, but no later than the first week of April.
Meeting was adjourned at 3pm.
